Abstract: Access to medical information from the Internet becomes an imperative part of human life when people need health consultations. In early 2020, when the spread of COVID-19 threats the life of every person on this planet, the Internet turns into the main source of public health information. The government encourages the augmentation of online medical information access and online medical information literacy where it requires effective information supply and social services. Information on the Internet is miscellaneous, and inaccurate information may precipitate hazardous consequences or cause social panic. Based on the investigation of online public medical information, this article analyzed the causes of the trust issues of online medical information; it also proposed several suggestions to enhance the provision of online medical information policies, develop the credibility and accuracy of the information on the online medical platform, reinforce the business standards and regulatory systems, and advance public health information literacy.
