Abstract:
Internet data crawling technology is used to gather data and statistical approach was adopted to analyze the influence of the cost of making e-books, the price of e-books and the ratio of e-book price to printed book price of the same title on the demand of the e-books. The research results showed that: 1) the cost of making e-books has little influence on their prices while the ratio of e-book price to printed book price of the same title affects the demand of e-books; 2) there is a rational prizing zone for e-books, only prizing in the zone, will publishers/platforms get reasonable profit. Base on the empirical research, suggestions are proposed: e-books of different subject should adopt discrimination pricing strategy to price e-book in a rational zone and e-books of the same subject should pricing at different levels.
