Design and Implementation of Online Course Community System Towards MOOC

Abstract:

The emergence of MOOC has fundamentally changed the traditional teaching methods. MOOC enables students obtaining highquality course resources anytime and anywhere using internet technology, which has the characteristics of massive, open and lowcost. However, current MOOC systems have several problems to solve: (1) the lack of realtime interactions between teachers and students; (2)lack of incentive mechanism; (3)information overload; (4)lack of support of resource sharing. This paper designed an online course community system towards MOOC, including realtime interaction service,reputation management mechanism,community recommendation system,resource sharing framework, and course question answering system, which effectively solved the problems faced by current MOOC system.
