Abstract: Smart home-based elderly care technology can provide a reliable guarantee for the elderly to support them aging in place. At present, many communities are actively promoting those technologies, but it is still not clear about what factors will affect its adoption and what effects will be produced using these technologies, etc. This article systematically reviewed the related literatures, found that there are three types of motivators and three types of hinder factors that would affect the adoption of technology. Moreover, there are two factors will moderate the adoption of technology. Finally, this article summarize the effectiveness of technology respectively from the society, hospitals, nursing staff, and the elderly level.
