Abstract: The keywords in academic journals reflect the research topis of journal. The analysis about journal keywords diversity in a certain period of time can help academic journal publishers to scientifically control the proportion of documents, rationally formulate strategies for sustainable development, which is of great significance to improve the journal quality. Taking 13 Journals of Information Science in China as examples, firstly, we extract the high-frequency keywords from journals, and construct the two-dimensional coordinates with the mean of the keywords frequency and Gini coefficient. And then, the distribution characteristics of journal keywords is analyzed in the two-dimensional coordinates. The results show that the Gini coefficient can be used not only to analyse the diversity of journal keywords in the surface sense, but also to analyse the scale and quality of journals on the content level.
