Abstract: This paper presents an author influence evaluation method based on research direction. Twenty authors in the field of Library and Information Science are selected as evaluation objects. Firstly, the author's research direction is divided on the basis of the author's co-citation network; secondly, the author's citation per paper is queried as the actual citation frequency, and the author's impact factor and T index are fitted by SPSS to obtain the expected citation frequency of author's literature; finally, the conditional citation frequency of the author's literature in the same research orientation is divided by the expected citation frequency to compute the author relative citation rate (ARCR) under the specific research orientation. Compared with CPP, h, g, P and hg indices, ARCR can better reflect the content characteristics of the published literature, narrow the comparison scope of authors, and make the evaluation more reasonable.
