Taking 54 Forestry journals included in Web of Science and Scopus database as examples, the GS index of 54 journals was calculated and compared with SJR index, JIF index and h index. Empirical research found that GS index has higher discrimination, better statistical analysis ability and more reliable evaluation effect.
