Empirical Study on the Common Demand of the Information Resources of Strategic Emerging Industries

Abstract:

Any industries and firms need information resources to support their development. Through theoretical analysis,this paper found firms on the industry level need more same information resources which combined according firms’ demand and showed differentiated on firm level. Because they were initiated by our country, the strategic emerging industries need more similar information resources. By conducting questionnaire survey to entrepreneurs and managers of the strategic emerging industries in Guangzhou, Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Jiangsu, this paper found more similarity among different regional and type of strategic emerging industries, not only the developmental obstacles and the categories but the service customers. Given this, this paper suggests constructing a centralized national service system of information resources for strategic emerging industries to meet their common demand. At the same time, this paper suggests providing differentiated information resources service for firms with the help of social and market power to ensure strategic emerging industries develop well and quickly.
