Abstract:

We chose the users of China Southern Power Grid as our samples. By using questionnaire and statistical analysis, we discovered that the most needed information contents of the users in large state-owned power grid enterprises were “industry news”, “techinical frontier”, “standards and patents”，and “leadership news”. Besides, users prefered information related to the enterprise itself, rather than information related to those not; they prefered information related to the power industry, rather than those not related to; they prefered information about technics, rather than those about policies. In addition, users with different characteristics differed a lot in their needs of information contents. Thus, in the future to conduct information services, we need to provide different information contents according to users’ separate characteristics, and meet their individual information needs.
