Abstract:

Since 1998, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has been developing an Electronic Record Archives (ERA) to preserve the electronic records of the government and ensure continuing access to the documentary heritage. During more than 10 years of construction, ERA has completed the development of ERA System and moved to full operation stage in 2011. This paper firstly introduces the incremental development methods and phrases,then reviews the ERA’s achievements of decade, last analyses the operation and use of ERA in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phrase, hoping to provide references for the construction of the digital archives in China.
