Abstract: Based on an interdisciplinary perspective, this paper adopts keyword co-occurrence, burst detection, network analysis, and other research methods to comprehensively grasp the research dynamics of AI governance at home and abroad. It takes Chinese and foreign papers on AI governance as research objects to reveal the characteristics and differences of related research in terms of overall development, cross breadth, and interdisciplinary integration themes and to provide references and lessons for China’s development in the future. The study found that Chinese scholars started to pay attention to AI governance later than foreign scholars but developed rapidly; foreign AI governance research mainly involved social science and computer science. The breadth of interdisciplinary and knowledge integration themes in foreign countries are more prosperous than those in China, and the research topics cover technology governance, application governance, governance policy, etc., which are mainly technology governance research, while China’s AI governance research is mainly social science, and the main research topic is application governance research.
