Value Driving and Demand Guiding:Development Trends of Archival Science During the 14th Five-year Plan Period

Abstract: Based on the value-driven and demand-guided idea, this paper briefly sorts out the connotation and evolution of archival values such as political/governance value, legal value, administrative value and cultural value. Taking the four values as the framework, this paper makes coding analysis of 14th Five-Year Plan for economic and social development on both national and provincial level and 14th Five-Year Plan of archival undertakings on national and provincial level to investigate into the national strategic demands for the development of archival undertakings. Referring to the characteristics of technology empowerment in the digital era, the authors propose the development trends of archival science during the 14th Five-year Plan period, which includes transformation from multidisciplinary integration to interdisciplinary integration, from archival governance to governance based archives, from archival digital transformation to archival digital integration, and from development and utilization of archives to archival data, etc.
