Abstract: In order to objectively judge the research conclusions between privacy concern and privacy behavior and answer the question of whether the privacy paradox exists, meta-analysis was used as the research method to analyze published literatures in China from 2011 to 2021. It was found that both the combined analysis of the literature on privacy protection behavior and the literature on privacy disclosure behavior negated the existence of the privacy paradox.The study that chooses "behavior" as the dependent variable is more prone to the phenomenon of privacy paradox than the study of "attention". "Attention" and other mediating variables will lead to the disappearance of the privacy paradox. Platform types are highly correlated with privacy paradox, and social media platforms have the highest correlation, indicating that the emergence of privacy paradox has situational conditions. In addition, we divide the types of privacy protection behaviors, and find that "type" is also the important moderating variable for the emergence of privacy paradox. By collecting and summarizing the conclusions of existing empirical studies, this paper puts forward new insights into the mechanism, and provides references and suggestions for future privacy research.
