Abstract: To explore the application value and path of full-text citation analysis method in altmetrics, so as to promote the in-depth understanding and rational utilizationof altmetrics, by referring to the full-text citation analysis method and combining with the characteristics of social media texts, this paper established an analytical framework for the behavior of social media texts referring to academic achievements. It took AAS Top50 papers published by Altmetric.com in 2019 and the blog posts that mentioned these papers as empirical data sets. Combined with the feature of blog posts, it analyzed the behavior of referring to papers from the aspects of mention pattern, mention position, mention intensity, mention emotion and motivation, etc. The study found that there are both connections and differences between the behavior of the blog posts referring to papers and the citation behavior of the academic papers. The application of the derived full-text citation analysis method to the mention behavior of social media texts can reveal the nature of behavior and its significance to academic evaluation, which is conducive to the construction of altmetrics method system.
