Abstract: This paper reviews the research progress of the self-efficacy theory and its application in the field of information systems abroad, in order to provide reference for domestic research. It adopts the method of literature research and applies the self-efficacy theory to systematically sort out the foreign literature and review the overall content from the four aspects of information technology acceptance and use, information security, information sharing behavior and user training and education. There are still some problems in the empirical study, such as single measurement dimension, lack of behavioral data support, scale validity reduction, neglect of collective effectiveness theory, simplified feedback effect and so on. At the same time, some research directions worthy of attention are put forward.
