Abstract:
Social media is increasingly becoming a main channel for users to share film reviews and an emerging platform for wordofmouth marketing. This article selects 24 movies in two different social media platforms, “Douban Film” and “Sina Weibo”, forecasting the total box office and dynamic weekly box office through the data analysis, and concludes with the predicting model for total and weekly box office in two platforms respectively, which gives the researcher, film marketers and merchants some new reference and suggestions.
