Abstract:

Funding is one of the key issues which should be addressed in the implementation process of long-term preservation of digital information resources. Based on the analysis of the international theoretical studies and practical experiences, this paper proposes the funding support strategies for long-term preservation of digital information resources in China, including the state leading the financial input, bringing the input on digital preservation in the budget of public information management institutions, bearing expenditures through cooperative projects, raising money by multi-channel and promoting sustainable development by fee-based services.
