Abstract:

Long-term preservation of digital information is a complex and systematic work, which involves the formats and standards of the digital preservation, the strategies and methods of the preservation, preservation metadata, intellectual property, costs of preservation, etc. This paper mainly discusses the progress of research on digital preservation with literature research from five aspects in recent years, namely, the motivation of digital information preservation, the subject and cooperation mode of digital preservation, the values and costs of digital preservation, the metadata of digital information preservation and the policies and regulations of digital preservation. Then it summarizes the enlightenment to long-term preservation of digital information activities in China.
