Abstract: This paper reviews the historical process of the renaming of the first-class discipline of "Library, Information and Archives Management" to "Information Resources Management", expounds the main reasons for the renaming of the discipline, responds to the doubts about the renaming, and finally puts forward three important tasks for the development of Information Resources Management in the future, namely, consolidating the basic theory of Information Resources Management in the new era, studying the basic framework of Information Resources Management, and ensuring the healthy development of Library Science, Information Science and Archival Science.
