Mendeley阅读指标视角下的中美国际论文影响力比较研究

Comparative Analysis of the Impact of International Publications from China and USA Under Perspective of Mendeley Readership Altmetric Indicator

摘要: 选取社会科学门类下的图书情报学、心理学以及自然科学门类下的生物化学与分子生物学、机械工程学共四个学科作为样本学科,从Mendeley阅读替代计量指标视角更加细腻地揭示中美国国际学术论文影响力之受众与范围。研究发现:(1)基于Mendeley阅读指标来看,中国国际论文被阅读的比例高于美国,但是被阅读的强度低于美国。(2)中美国际论文所影响的读者身份以学生群体为主体(比例在60%左右),其中博士生读者占主导地位(比例在30%左右),但是读者身份分布存在学科差异。(3)中美两国的自科类学科论文的Mendeley读者学科分布呈现出一致性,社科类学科论文的则呈现出差异性。(4)中国在四个学科的国际论文主要影响其他国家的读者,来自中国的读者可见度较低。在机械工程学,中美学术论文影响最多的均是日本读者,并且中国论文影响了更多来自印度、巴西等发展中国家的读者,美国论文影响了更多英国、韩国等发达国家的读者。这些结论表明Mendeley阅读指标有利于追踪和比较不同学科、不同国家学术论文产生影响力的方向,为更加全面地理解学术论文的交流和影响提供参考。

Abstract: This paper selects the disciplines of Library Science & Information Science and Psychology under the category of Social Sciences and the disciplines of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Mechanical Engineering under the category of Natural Science as sample disciplines. The aim is to use Mendeley readership altmetrics to reveal the audience and scope of influence of publications from China and USA. Major findings are: (1) According to Mendeley readership altmetric indicator, the proportion of international papers read in China is higher than that in the United States, but the intensity of reading is lower than that in the United States.(2) Mendeley readership of China is dominated by students (about 60%), among them, the doctoral student reader is in the leading position (about 30%). However, there are disciplines differences in the distribution of reader identity. (3) The subject distribution of Mendeley readers of Science and Engineering papers in China and the United States is consistent, while that of Social Science papers is different.(4) The international papers of China in four disciplines are mainly read by readers of other countries, and the visibility of readers from China is low. In Mechanical Engineering, Chinese and American academic papers have the highest proportion of Japanese readers, and Chinese papers have attracted more readers from developing countries such as India and Brazil, while American papers have attracted more readers from developed countries such as Britain and Korea. These conclusions indicate that the Mendeley readership altmetric indicator is helpful to identify the use of academic papers more thoroughly, track and compare the influential directions of academic papers in different disciplines and countries, and provide reference for a more comprehensive understanding of the communication and impact of academic papers.
