Opportunities and Challenges of Science of Science Big Data

摘要: 在阐述科学学大数据概念的基础上,论述了科学学大数据研究的五大机遇:数字化数据与新工具日益可用,揭示科学发现过程与规律,解析科学结构、关系与演化特征,分析科学活动、科学家行为与职业生涯,为科技评价与技术预测研究提供科学的工具;提出了科学学大数据分析面临的五大挑战:基于科学学大数据的科学结构分析方法仍不成熟,科学计量与评价的新方法、新理论、新算法亟待开发,科学学大数据分析平台与工具相对较少,整合多元数据的技术手段尚不成熟,科学学大数据揭示规律的普适性仍需检验。

Abstract: On the basis of expounding the concept of big data in science of science, this paper discusses the five opportunities of big data research in science of science: the increasing availability of digital data and new tools, the revelation of the process and laws of scientific discovery, the analysis of scientific structure, relationship and evolution characteristics, the analysis of scientific activities, scientists' behavior and career, and the provision of scientific tools for scientific and technological evaluation and technology prediction research. Five challenges faced by big data in science of science analysis are put forward: the analysis method of scientific structure based on big data in science of science is still immature, new methods, new theories and new algorithms of scientific measurement and evaluation based on big data in science of science need to be developed urgently, the big data in science of science analysis platform and tools are relatively few, the technical means of integrating multiple data are not mature, and the universality of science big data revealing law still needs to be tested.
