Abstract:

According to the editing styles and presentation of Wikipedia entry, we analyze the semantic structure of Wikipedia entry, and propose a semantic structure model of Wikipedia entry and its modules and semantic functions on the basis of editing style theory, text structure theory, rhetorical structure theory and knowledge representation theory. The study shows that semantic structure of Wikipedia entry consists of explanative part and functional part, both of which have rich semantic relations and functions. Web-based collaborative production and hyperlinks have a great influence on semantic structure of Wikipedia entry, making it favourable for reading and information acquisition.
