Abstract:

To explore factors influencing consumer usage intention of healthcare wearable information technology, this paper integrates TAM theory and diffusion of innovation theory and then proposes hypotheses and constructs the research model from the perspectives of the moderating effects of usage experience and health knowledge. According to the pretest, we identify two types of healthcare wearable devices, and consumers related to them are selected as empirical research samples. 380 valid questionnaire surveys are acquired and SmartPLS is applied to test the hypotheses and research model. It is found that perceived usefulness and consumer innovativeness all positively affect consumer usage intention of healthcare wearable information technology. Perceived ease of use has a positive impact on perceived usefulness and curiosity has a positive impact on consumer innovativeness. What’s more, health knowledge can moderate the effect of perceived usefulness on usage intention and usage experience can moderate the effect of consumer innovativeness on usage intention.

Key words: Healthcare wearable technology, Usage experience, Health knowledge, Usage intention
